Preston 1 - 2 Portsmouth
Players really pulled their weight in this match.
We went 1-0 down in the first 12 minutes, unfortunately we had been in control of the match, but the ball was fumbled into the box and Preston reacted quicker to put the ball into the back of the net.
We went into the break at 1-0 down, feeling pretty sorry ourselves considering we had been in control of the game.
However; we came out in the second half with an admirable determination and we began to put the hammer down on Preston, hitting them on the break time and time again until eventually Nile Ranger smashed the ball into the back of the net at the 71st Minute.
Mamady Sidibe then decided he wasn't going to allow Ranger to be the star of the show and started an astonishing run in behind the Preston defence, thread through by Harris to tuck it away and put us up by 1.
The rest of the game was more of the same, we continued to hammer Preston, keeping them in their half and hitting them on the break, but not being able to put the ball into the back of the net; which is not a great concern to me currently as we're still in top position of League 1!
Come on Pompey!
Portsmouth 4 - 2 Swindon (Johnson's Paint Trophy)
Great game! Was awesome from the outset, once again a completely dominant game from our Portsmouth players who all came out with an extremely high match rating.
I don't know how this has come about for us to be putting in such Opposition Soul Destroying play but we are gunning for every single opposition team we come up against. Every single player wants to win their match, and it seems like every single one of my players wants to be getting on the score sheet as well!
Brian Howard was the player of the game scoring 3 of our 4 goals, his performance was dominating and Swindon just couldn't handle him at all, he picked the ball up in the pocket of the midfield, played a ball forward, continued his run and was in the right place at the right time to score goal after goal after goal.
Dumbaya scored our 4th goal rounding off a capital performance of the highest quality.
Celebratory drinks in order tonight!!
Brentfood 1 - 0 Portsmouth
Pretty disappointing match in honesty; I mean I know the winning streak wouldn't last forever, but we didn't put up much of a fight at all to try and come back.
I'm not angered by this considering we're still second just disappointed at the lack of fight we showed this match, but again saying that we are Portsmouth who should be fighting our way out of relegation and we have only picked up our first loss in League 1, five matches in.
Portsmouth 1 - 0 Crewe
This win keeps us on the straight and narrow and in our winning form.
Unfortunately this wasn't the most entertaining of matches as you can obviously see by the score line, but you know what a win is a win and I'll take that and celebrate with my players as would any manager in the position I am currently in.
Cannot stress my happiness with my players enough!
Pompey Fighting!
Portsmouth 4 - 1 Yeovil
Keeping up the winning form!! Outstanding performance
Michalik, Ertl, Coombes and Howard all getting onto the scoresheet!
Shrewsbury 1 - 2 Portsmouth
This was a tough match. Shrewsbury set up shop during the first half and defended really well, weathering the storm exceptionally well. I didn't think we were going to get anything from this game until we went 1-0 around the 70th minute, shortly after Shrewsbury equalised and I thought well thats it, we're only taking a point from this game, UNTIL a hook downfield into the Shrewsbury half, a shot from Sidibe pushed wide by the keeper who then chases it up to the edge of the box... FUMBLES the ball... Rogers picks up the ball at the corner flag, pushes it slightly more in field for a better angle... AND..... GOALLLLL!!! Sublime finish!!
Fantastic match overall, great fun to watch!!
Portsmouth 3 - 0 Doncaster
Against a team that have Championship experience I am over joyed with this result. Words cannot describe my jubilation at my teams current form!!
Nile Ranger hit Doncaster on the 45th minute to deflate their morale just before the half time break, which caused us great confidence and absolutely destroyed the opposition because when they came back out again after half time it was as if they didn't even wan to be on the pitch.
Ashley Harris (I am in awe of this kids talent) then added the second goal in the 70th minute, followed by Darel Russell in the 84th minute; Just putting the 3rd and final nail into Doncaster's coffin.
That win pushes up into 1st position above Hartlepool as well!
Bournemouth 1 - 2 Portsmouth
Stressful match, extremely physical, extremely fast paced. Lots of yellow cards flew out of the referee's pocket this match, Tom Thorpe picked up an injury - But the main aspect of the match is that we once again came out on top and gained the more important 3 points!
Ashley Harris was by far the player of the game! He was the play maker of both goals and picked up both assists in the two goals as well.
Summary
21 points from 24 is freaking fantastic. Bring on October.

Signings
Players
Kalifa Cissé
Defensive Midfielder / Central Midfielder / Centre Back
A versatile player; With the ability to play as a DM, CM or a CB.
I see him fitting in extremely well, considering he will mainly be playing as a Central Midfielder or a Centre Back. I am extremely excited for when I will eventually be able to see him in action, which won't be very often until the next registration window, however he can play in cup competitions such as the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, etc. Great anticipation floating around this player.
Staff
Bobby Bennett
Scout
Considering that he has an JA rating of 15 and a JPA of 17 I think this is a fantastic addition to our scouting team.
His report upon joining brought up a Defensive Midfielder / Central Midfielder named Kalifa Cissé, who I feel will add increased stability to the team when we're trying to defend a lead.
I have already Approached to sign him and he has accepted the deal, we're now just waiting to see whether or not we can get him here due to work permits, etc.
Injuries
Mamady Sidibe
Sidibe picked up an injury in the 3-0 against Doncaster, putting him out for around two, maybe three weeks. Fortunately we have just regained Piquionne who is now going to have to regain his prior form as soon as possible.
